The Costume Closet and Arts Mosaic Inc. wish to thank the Elkhorn and Area Foundation Inc. for their financial contribution towards some much needed upgrades.

Funds from the Foundation ensured that the janitorial and sanitization products are now in keeping with current health and safety standards. New mats were also purchased for the front and back entrances.

New rolling office chairs were purchased for the centre worktables, to protect the concrete flooring and to offer a touch of comfort and cohesion to the space,

We sincerely appreciate this support from the Elkhorn and Area Foundation.

About Us

The Costume Closet is home to many unique, one of a kind items that are available to rent.

Their costumes have been donated over several decades, making it a vast collection of over 40,000 items.

Their pieces have been rented for socials, theatre productions, school Christmas concerts, Halloween, family reunions, movie productions, historic period cemetery tours - to name a few.

Items can also be rented for high school graduations and wedding parties.

The Costume Closet opened in the basement of the Virden Auditorium Theatre in 1991. As their collection grew they quickly realized that they needed more space for their one of a kind collection.

In January 2006, they moved into their own building across from Virden's historic CPR Historic Centre.

The Costume Closet is run by hardworking volunteers, who work tirelessly to costume the residents of SW Manitoba and SE Saskatchewan.

Prices vary, please contact the Costume Closet directly to inquire about rental rates for each item.

Their mandate: To provide, at afforwable rates, costuming for drama groups, schools, festivals, community events, reunions, private events and more to Manitoba and Southeastern Saskatchewan, thereby encouraging the exploration of creative minds.
